The Dream Team

If you want to use Creative Sessions to generate new ideas and innovations, the Dream Team can be a major factor in your success. The exact composition of a team plays a decisive role in determining the quality of the “collective brain” and the ideas it comes up with. What knowledge and special experiences do the individual team members bring with them? Are they all from the same cultural group or do they come from a variety of different backgrounds? Have they had a variety of education, training and professional experience that combine excitingly or do they all see things the same way? Are they fresh and receptive like children or is their expert knowledge so firm and secure that they can no longer see anyone else's point of view. Success depends on a combination of team members and of course the ability to bring together the right people at the right time. It is the different knowledge and experience of the individual participants that determines the quality and volume of their ideas.

›› Homogeneous groups?

Homogeneous groups produce mainly uniform ideas, conformist groups generally duplicate existing ideas and apprehensive teams hardly ever come up with anything that could be described as new. Unfortunately these three types of team are encountered all too often in companies. Would like to show you here what kinds of individuals could help make up your Dream Team. These mixed teams are often made up of in-house people and external people and can comprise up to around 60 individuals. We select people from an extensive network of freelancers, specialists, children, artists, experts, academics etc.

›› Multicultural teams

In certain cases we bring together people of different cultural backgrounds for Creative Sessions because the more varied the experiences, fields of knowledge, values and belief systems, the more inspiring and wide-ranging the output.

›› Scientists & researchers

Einstein once said that imagination is more important than knowledge. A lot of people say that knowledge is more important than imagination. Both statements are true – the key is knowing which to use when. Creative Sessions bring inspiring knowledge into the team, knowledge which only a small number of people possess, such as researchers, scientists, experts and specialist personnel.

›› Children & youths

Imagine that all of a sudden anything is possible. If can, it means you can think like a child. Free from care, unburdened by restrictive experience and guided by the motto: “Let's just see what happens if we try it”. Creative Sessions often expand the creative field by inviting highly gifted children along – or even whole school classes.

›› Freethinkers & creative artists

Nothing enriches Creative Sessions more than people who have the courage to follow their own path and who have already successfully introduced something new into the world. For many projects it can be extremely helpful to invite musicians, actors, artists or performers along.

›› Academics & theoreticians

Creative Sessions make connections between things that were previously completely unrelated. A range of specialists focusing on exotic and very different areas can therefore provide a rich source of inspiration for your subject – whatever it might be!

›› One-man armies and eccentrics

Creative Sessions are often expected to radically push back boundaries or even blow them away. Particularly helpful in this are individuals whose take on the world has always been different to that of so-called “normal society”. For this reason we occasionally invite enthralling characters along whom some might rather unfairly describe as nutcases, outsiders, obsessives or eccentrics.

›› Those who work at the limits

Creative Sessions can be at their most inspiring when they involve people whose jobs frequently take them beyond normal, everyday experience. These highly emotional experiences are contributed above all by those who work in professions such as the fire service, medicine, heavy industry, shipping/sailing etc.

›› Participants from the creative industries

Creative Sessions also make ample use of professional creatives who earn their daily bread developing ideas. They help to speed up the whole idea development process and have a stimulating effect on the team. These individuals come from advertising, the film industry, fashion or design, for example.

›› Adventurers & practitioners of extreme sports

A lot of tasks can benefit from the stimulating and inventive contribution of people who devote themselves privately or professionally to the systematic exploration of human limits. They include extreme sportsmen and sportswomen, adventurers and amateur explorers.

›› Ihre Zielgruppe und Ihre Kunden

Creative Sessions will happily include those people referred to drily in your marketing documents and briefings as „target group” or „customer”. Wouldn’t it be interesting to hear the ideas of these people for once and involve them directly in the idea-generating process? We should never lose sight of the fact that the customer is the real expert on your product and has a lot to say on the matter.
